Myocardial Infarction (mī'ō-kär'dē əl ĭn-färk'shən)
abbreviation: MI
Defn.: The medical terminology for heart attack. Occurs when the blood supply to part of the heart is interrupted due to the sudden deprivation of circulating blood. The pain can be severe or mild. It can feel like a tight band around the chest, something heavy sitting on your chest, squeezing or heavy pressure.
Sentence:
1. Erica had a myocardial infarction when her name did not appear on the state board of nursing website after seeing the names of other members from her class who took the test the same day as her.
Explanation:
A classmate who took the test the same day as me states RN on her facebook page. I hurry to the website to check for my name-nothing!!! I check my other classmates names who took the test with me- all of their names appear. My heart pounds, my glands sweat, and my face flushes. Could I have failed the test in 75 questions? I call the state board to find out if there is a hold on my RN license. Relief. I was told that I did pass the test but have the choice to get my license now and renew it in May or wait until March 17 and not renew again until May of 2012. Whew. So I'm not an RN because technically I am not registered but I did pass the test! Here's proof.

YAY for passing the test! Especially with all that pressure that's on it and all the security on top of that! AWESOME!
That is great Erica! Hats off to you. I enjoyed getting caught up on what you and Trace have been up to. That test sounds like it was a little intimidating up front.
