Fear

Baby Estelle is fearless. We are always jumping out in attempt to scare her, tossing her back and forth in the pool, and throwing her up in the air. We pop balloons, go to the firework show on Friday nights, and make loud scary noises at home. All the while she is giving big smiles and giggling.

Except for the vacuum. The minute I take it out of the closet she is moaning and crawling up my leg like a cat fleeing from a chasing dog. She screams when I turn it on. She won't calm until it is safely stored back in the closet. I've tried bringing her near the vacuum while I pet, hug, and kiss it. Oddly enough she doesn't seem to mind it and will even touch it when her dad is using it. I've got two theories.

#1: She's a feminist and cannot stand to see me subjected to the manual labor of cleaning

#2: It's an attempt to keep me from removing all of her favorite goodies she so enjoys putting in her mouth from off the floor

Boy that's a hard decision between #1 & 2! At first I was totally for #1, but then I read #2 and you had a very good point! If you'd just feed the girl so she didn't have to stash her goodies all over the house for when she was hungry, maybe Trace could vacuum and she'd be content. :)
