The Peglow award is given out at the end of the graduation ceremony to "the senior dental student who possesses those qualities most desirable in a dentist including integrity, humility, compassion, skill, sensitivity to patient nee, and dedication to service; nominated by the senior class, then selected by the class and faculty." Trace did not know he was the recipient and you can see his surprise as he accepts the plaque from the Dean.
Trace's parents came and celebrated with us. Sorry you couldn't all be there but the seating was limited to 5 guests per student. Keeping in line with my motto- friends don't make friends go to graduation.
If you want to watch it, make sure you have flash player installed and follow the link: Graduation Ceremony 2011
To cut to the good stuff you can watch Trace get hooded at minute 1:12:30 and get his Peglow award at 1:39:50
