Mona Lisa
It was raining and cold on Saturday so Trace and I went to OMSI, Oregon Museum of Science and Industry, to visit the Da Vinci exhibit. Neither of us knew much about his life but we learned a lot! He invented an armored tank and underwater scuba gear. Leonardo's painting of "The Last Supper" was actually not a fresco but an experiment on dry wall that didn't hold up so well. An infrared scan of the Mona lisa showed what the orginal coloring would have looked like and discovered that she did originally have eyebrows. It is a traveling exhibit that both of us really enjoyed. The museum sits right next to the Willamette River, which gave us great views of a huge wind/rain storm that knocked out power through part of the city. We were glad to be inside.
