Erica's Perspective: We were both attending school at BYU in Provo, Utah. I ran into him on-campus talking with Quinn and Chris, some friends of mine (who happened to be his roommates). It was only a minute but I decided then that he was going to ask me on a date. Kourtney, my roommate and I, had arranged to play Nintendo on Saturday morning with some friends at Liberty Square, a large apartment complex near the house we lived in. When we arrived that morning Trace was getting a haircut in the front room from his roommate, Quinn. We started talking and discovered we both spoke french (I use that term loosely for me). He told me he was meeting with some french speaking friends that evening and I was welcome to join him if I wanted some practice.
He had to run off to the airport that morning but got my number before he left. The french activity he had invited me to was actually his mission reunion in Salt Lake City.
For fun we decided to pretend we were engaged for the evening. It was pretty fun and ONLY three years later we actually are engaged! Thanks for your patience everyone.
