Each year the incoming first year dental students at OHSU are invited to Cannon Beach, OR for a retreat at the ocean. I was invited as a second year representative to attend. I'm still not sure why I was invited, or what I really did that was beneficial, though I can assure you I had a blast. The hotel was top of the line and they even baked home made chocolate chip cookies served with chocolate milk as an evening snack. I think I can get used to being a dentist.
During the first day of the conference the students are broken into groups and discuss aspects of an ideal dentist. The second day everyone is split into six teams and they have a sand sculpture competition. Sponge Bob was pretty amazing, but the nose hairs in the giant head won me over.
